How to Measure Yourself for Waist Beads
(For Removable Clasp Option)

1. Get a soft measuring tape

Use a flexible fabric or sewing tape measure (not a metal construction one).

2. Stand naturally

Stand up straight, relax your stomach, and breathe normally. Don’t suck in or push out your stomach.

3. Find your natural waist

Your natural waist is usually:

  • The narrowest part of your torso

  • Slightly above or near your belly button

  • Where your body naturally creases when you bend to the side

  • Note: Waist beads can also be worn any wear from low hip to high waist

4. Wrap the tape around your waist

Place the tape measure around your natural waist (on your skin. Not over your clothing):

  • Keep it level (parallel to the floor)

  • Don’t twist it

  • Make sure it’s snug but not tight

5. Check the fit

The tape should:

  • Sit comfortably against your skin

  • Not dig in

  • Not be loose or sliding

6. Read the measurement

Look at where the tape overlaps and note the number in inches.

Pro Tip (for waist beads or fitted items)

For comfort, especially with waist beads:

  • Add ½ inch to 1 inch to your measurement for a relaxed fit

  • If you want a tighter fit, use your exact measurement

How to Tie-On Your Waist Beads
(for Tie-On Waist Beads)

What You’ll Need:

  • Your Rose & Flame Wellness waist beads

  • A mirror (optional, but helpful)

  • Scissors

  • A second person for assistance if desired

Traditional Tie-On Method

1. Decide where you want your waist beads to sit

Choose the area on your body where you would like to wear them:

  • High waist

  • Natural waist

  • Lower hips

Keep in mind that waist beads stay wherever they are tied.

2. Wrap the strand around your body

Gently place the waist beads around your waist or hips at your desired placement.

3. Adjust for comfort

Pull the strand until it feels comfortable:

  • Leave extra room for a relaxed fit

  • Pull slightly snug for a fitted feel

Avoid tying them too tight.

4. Create your knot

Once you’ve found your desired fit, securely tie the strands together using one of the knot options below.

Knot Options:

Single Knot (Temporary / Adjustable Feel)

  • Tie one simple knot

  • Easier to remove later if needed

  • Best for temporary wear or testing placement

Double Knot (Recommended)

  • Tie a standard knot

  • Then tie a second knot directly on top

  • Creates a more secure hold for everyday wear

Sliding Knot Option (Adjustable Fit)

For those who prefer adjustability:

How to Create a Sliding Knot:

  1. Cross both ends of the string over each other

  2. Create small loops around the opposite strand

  3. Tie secure knots on each side while leaving room for movement

  4. Pull gently to tighten or loosen as needed

This option allows you to:

  • Adjust the fit over time

  • Remove and retighten if desired

  • Wear more flexibly at different waist placements

5. Trim excess string

After tying securely:

  • Leave about 1/4 inch of extra string before cutting

  • Trim carefully with scissors

Helpful Tips

  • Tie your waist beads while standing upright

  • Avoid tying immediately after eating for the most accurate fit

  • If bathing frequently, allow strands to dry properly by air drying afterward for longevity

  • Be mindful not to snag beads on clothing or other object

Reminder

Traditional tie-on waist beads are intended for long-term wear and are not designed to be removed daily unless using a removable clasp or sliding knot option. Wear them with intention, confidence, and comfort.

Waist Care

Proper care helps preserve the beauty, longevity, and integrity of your adornments over time.

Caring for Traditional Tie-On Waist Beads

Traditional tie-on waist beads are designed for continuous wear, so gentle care is important.

Care Tips:

  • Avoid pulling or tugging on the strands excessively

  • Be mindful when changing clothes to prevent snagging

  • Dry your waist beads thoroughly after bathing, swimming, or sweating

  • Avoid prolonged exposure to harsh chemicals, perfumes, oils, or lotions

  • Store extra strands in a dry, clean space when not in use

  • Handle your beads gently to preserve the string and bead finish over time

  • Can be wash gently with mild body soaps when bathing or showering

Helpful Reminder:

Traditional waist beads naturally experience wear over time due to continuous use. Caring for them gently can help extend their longevity and appearance.

Caring for Removable Clasp Waist Beads

Removable clasp waist beads offer flexibility and can be taken on and off as desired.

Care Tips:

  • Remove before showering, swimming, exercising, or sleeping when possible

  • Store flat or hanging to prevent tangling

  • Avoid bending or overstretching elastic cording

  • Keep away from excessive moisture, perfumes, oils, and harsh chemicals

  • Gently wipe beads and clasp with a soft cloth if needed

  • Open and close clasps carefully to preserve durability over time

Stainless Steel Care:

Stainless steel components are durable and resistant to tarnishing, but proper care helps maintain their shine and longevity.

General Care & Longevity

With proper care, your waist beads can remain beautiful, intentional adornments for a long time. Because each piece is handcrafted with care and intention, gentle handling is recommended to help preserve the integrity of the materials.

Wear your Rose & Flame Wellness adornments mindfully, intentionally, and with love.
